The editorial board of PABC is drawn from the Academy's membership. It is being assembled as the Academy's founding leadership is established.

Associate editors

Associate editors triage submissions, run review rounds, record decisions, and oversee production — the roles that map onto the HydraPub editorial pipeline. Because PABC's self-managing review model shifts most reviewer coordination onto the members and the software, the associate-editor role is deliberately light: chasing the small residue of review that does not resolve itself, and making tier and revision decisions.

Membership and eligibility

Membership in the Academy is the engine that keeps PABC's costs low. Members receive the member submission track, standing in the Academy and eligibility for editorial roles, and recognition for review service. In return they owe an annual reviewing assignment.

Membership is not yet open, because the Academy is still in formation. When it opens, the expected shape is an application stating your field, your qualifications to review, and your agreement to the annual reviewing obligation. We expect the bar to be a working researcher capable of competent peer review, not seniority or institutional affiliation.
